Toyota Spreads Camry Cheer to South Korea

Facts and figures usually do a pretty good job of foretelling which models will find the most success. Take the Toyota Camry for example. For 13 out of the past 14 years, the beloved sedan has been the top-seller in the United States and one of the most popular models worldwide. Banking on the evidence in that sentence alone, we at Lustine Toyota predict it will do more than well in its new market location.
Beginning January of 2012, Toyota will launch an annual rate of 6,000 Camry sedans to South Korea. Motivation behind the move centers on increasing American production as well as expanding the automaker's export market.
Yoshimi Inaba, President and COO of Toyota Motor North America, says, "The export of thousands of Camry vehicles to South Korea is an important development that builds on the great work of our talented U.S. team members as well as our extensive investments across North America to help maintain a strong, stable base of U.S. jobs. We look forward to other opportunities to continue growing exports from our American operations."
Specifically, the recent export expansion is owed to the hard work of Toyota team members in Georgetown, KY. The manufacturing facility will add the slew of Camry exports to its current production output; a surprisingly feasible feat for the plant's team of 7,000 dedicated employees.
