Mississippi Plant Rolls Out 2012 Toyota Corolla

Lustine Toyota always counts it a good sign to see our favorite automaker pushing the start button on new production. We feel especially elated when that production begins within our nation's walls. So you can imagine how pleased we are to inform Toyota fans in the greater Woodbridge area that production of the 2012 Toyota Corolla has recently begun at the Blue Springs, Mississippi plant.

Considering recent challenges due to natural disaster, it's a feat in itself for the automaker to open up a new facility. With an initial on-take of 1,200 team members and a $1.3 billion investment, it is quite the impressive one at that. By the end of the year, Toyota plans on adding another 300 employees and once the plant hits its maximum capacity of 150,000 units per year, a total of 2,000 workers will have been brought on board. Now that is a lot of expansion for just one plant.

Of course, when a company arm expands, quite often, the entire body grows bigger as well. This is most certainly the case with Toyota. New Corolla production at Blue Springs is part of the automaker's larger plan to increase U.S. market involvement. Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's executive VP for North American manufacturing, says, "The company will increase its North American output by 15-percent compared to the beginning of the year estimations."1

With all the new expansion, Lustine Toyota thinks it's a perfect time to stop by 14227 Jefferson Davis Hwy Woodbridge, VA 22191 and test drive any new Toyota model you see.
