Toyota Increases RAV4 Production for Our Neighbors to the North

Sometimes it's essential for automakers to take a risk in order to find success. Such is the case with Toyota. Although, Lustine Toyota would easily argue that Toyota has found plenty of success over the past year. Nevertheless, the automaker is set to invest an additional $80 million in its Ontario, Canada plant in order to increase production of the popular Toyota RAV4 crossover.
Why take such a risk? Largely because the RAV4 has gained such popularity throughout North America that heightened production is inevitable to meet demand. To that end, Ray Tanguay, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) Chairman, explains, "We are optimistic that the market is coming back and we're grateful for the strong sales of the RAV4 in the North American market."1
In addition to pumping out more Toyota RAV4 crossovers, the Canada-based manufacturing facility will be able to offer up another extremely valuable asset: increased jobs. More specifically, 400 additional Ontario residents will be able to find employment working as part of the Toyota team. These team members will work hard and lend their finely-tuned skills to increase production capacity from its current number of 150,000 RAV4 models per year to 200,000. A win-win situation if Lustine Toyota ever saw one.
