Toyota President Gets a Firsthand NASCAR Experience

Toyota and NASCAR have always carried a close bond. For years now the automaker has been taking stellar street-legal new Toyota models and modifying them for the race tracks. Recently the bond became even closer when Toyota President Akio Toyoda made his way from Japan to Florida to turn 10 laps on the Daytona 500 track.

In which Toyota race car did the 55-year old exec ride? None other than a prototype of the upcoming 2013 Toyota Camry. And he loved every minute of it. Regarding the experience, Toyoda says, "I've been always interested in this great sort of a cultural event, the racing activity in the united states, which is really supported by many sponsors and fans."1

While Toyoda certainly enjoyed the thrilling drive, he couldn't offer up details for the new Camry NASCAR vehicle. Although, Lustine Toyota does have a good feeling the model will bear strong resemblance to its production-model Toyota Camry sibling...with a serious extra helping of performance and race-level power of course.

For those interested in acquiring more information, be sure to tune in to Lustine Toyota early this summer. Toyota officials say the 2013 Camry race car will be revealed on May 22nd in North Carolina. We promise to gather up all the juicy details once that occurs. In the meantime, feel free to swing by 14227 Jefferson Davis Hwy Woodbridge, VA 22191 and check out our current, street-legal new and used Toyota inventory.
