Future Toyota Vehicles Will Sense Your Emotion

Though some are better at controlling their moods than others, Lustine Toyota knows that everyone has a bad day or a sleepy morning every once in a while. We also know that when that happens, drivers can become distracted at the wheel.

In order to increase the level of safety your new Toyota vehicle can provide, Toyota is working on a mood-sensing technology. By calling on a group of sensors, the system takes readings from 238 different points on the drivers face and combines them to determine an emotion.

Based on the driver's current emotional state, the Toyota vehicle will automatically alter its course of action. For example, if you're feeling distressed and distracted, the Toyota technology will enable your auto to alert you more quickly of potential hazards you might otherwise have missed.

So, when will the Toyota vehicles on our lot at 14227 Jefferson Davis Hwy Woodbridge, VA 22191 start sensing your mood? Anytime in the next six years or so. Jonas Ambeck, a lead Toyota developer, elaborates further saying, "Some of the elements could start to be available in around six years. For non-vital applications some basic things could be available earlier though."1

You know what that means. Now is the time to be keeping up with our Lustine Toyota blog as diligently as ever. That way you won't miss a single exciting Toyota detail that comes our way. If you can think up any further questions right now, we encourage you to contact one of our team members online and ask away.
