Under the Highlander's Hood

The base engine is 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. It is rated at 184 pound-feet of torque and 185 horsepower. This engine gets Variable-Valve Timing with intelligence and is a six-speed automatic. It gets a fuel economy of 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. There is also the new 3.5-liter V6 engine that is rated at 263 pound-feet of torque and 295 horsepower. The fuel economy is 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The V6 gets a Stop and Start Engine System which allows the engine to shut off when the Highlander comes to a complete stop and will restart when the brake pedal is lifted. It reduces emissions, gives a quieter in-cabin experience, and reduces fuel consumption. When the towing package is with it, it will give it a maximum towing capacity up to 5,000 pounds. The package also includes a heavy-duty radiator with engine oil cooler, supplemental transmission oil cooler, 200-watt fan coupling, and 150-amp alternator.

Design of Toyota Highlander

The Highlander is a three-row crossover SUV that fits eight-passengers. The LE, LE Plus, XLE, SE, Limited, and Limited Platinum are all the trim levels. The LE is the base model that gets 18-inch alloy wheels, windshield wiper de-icer, heated mirrors, rear privacy glass, the Toyota Safety Sense bundle, rear air-conditioning, a rearview camera, cloth upholstery, a six-way manually adjustable driver seat, a 60/40-split second and third row seats, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system with auxiliary audio jack, CD player, and a media player interface. The LE Plus adds a flip-up rear window, fog lights, tri-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a higher-resolution 8-inch touchscreen. The XLE adds roof rails, keyless entry, keyless ignition, sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, second-row window sunshades, and a navigation system. The SE gets LED running lights, suspension tuning, sport styling, and sport interior trim. The Limited gets all the XLE features with different 19-inch wheels, a rear cargo cover, rear parking sensors, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 12-speaker audio system. The Limited Platinum gets automatic wipers, panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera, and heated steering wheel and second-row seats.

What is the Bird's Eye View Camera?

The Bird's Eye View Camera system features a function called Perimeter Scan, which provides a live rotating 360-degree view around the vehicle, helping the driver to see potential obstacles in certain conditions.

How much space is in the entire cabin?

When only the third row is folded down there is 42.3 cubic feet and when both the second and third are folded down is 83.7 cubic feet. The whole cabin has 158.7 cubic feet.
