2017 Toyota Prius at Lustine Toyota for Woodbridge, VA

The Toyota Prius has paved the way for the modern-day hybrid vehicle. With sixteen years of Prius vehicle production, Toyota still manages to keep the 2017 Prius a leader in its class. With an EPA rating of 52 mpg in combined driving, the 2017 Prius is a winner. No changes have been made to the 2017 model since the 2016 redesign of the vehicle. For 2017, several advanced driver aid features that were previously included in a package are now standard on all trim levels. Highlights for the Prius include its exceptional gas mileage, its hatchback design with spacious cargo area, an exceptionally quiet cabin, and its roomy interior.

Under the Prius's Hood

Since the 2017 Toyota Prius is a hybrid vehicle, it is powered by both a gas engine (a 1.8-liter four-cylinder) and two electric motors. Together, the two power sources are sent to an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. 121 horsepower is generated from these power sources, which is sent to the front wheels. Regenerative braking technology helps keep the hybrid battery charged, so no exterior charging is necessary. Handling and ride quality in the Prius is excellent due to its double wishbone suspension. As mentioned earlier, fuel economy is unmatchable. Try the Prius Two Eco trim and your fuel economy can reach 56 mpg combined.

The next trim, the Two Eco, is the ultra green model. It comes with a lighter hybrid battery, ultralow-rolling resistance tires, an inflation kit instead of a spare tire, and illuminated keyless entry. In the Three trim, the interior is upgraded with imitation leather on the steering wheel and armrests and you'll get the innovative wireless phone charging pad. Also included is Toyota's Entune infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, satellite radio, HD radio, and smartphone app interfacing. Moving up to the Four trim, you'll get a host of driver aid features and more interior comforts such as automatic wipers, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, imitation-leather upholstery, a power driver seat, and heated front seats.
