The same engine is available in two different versions with the 2019 Corolla. The first version is a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder which can produce up to 128 pound-feet of torque and 132 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission is standard, although a six-speed manual transmission is available with the SE trim. The LE Eco trim specifically is available with the same 1.8-liter engine, except this time it produces 140 horsepower and 126 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy is incredibly impressive with the Corolla. The standard configuration gets you around 28 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. The LE Eco trim will get you up to 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.

Two engines are available with the common 2019 Civic models. The first is a 2.0-liter inline-4, which produces 138 pound-feet of torque and 158 horsepower. This engine gets either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The higher available engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-4, which can create 162 pound-feet of torque and 174 horsepower. Most trims paired with this engine will get the CVT. Fuel economy isn't as impressive with the Civic. The base configuration will get you just 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
